Alluviale Hawke’s Bay ‘Blanc’ 2009

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Feb-2011
A blend of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Semillon from Mangatahi, partially fermented in oak to 13.5% alc. and <2 g/L rs, with further French oak barrel aging. Brilliant straw-yellow with lemon-green hues to the colour, this has a piercing, intense and aromatic nose of herbs, nettles, gooseberries and spicy oak with some toasting evident. Dry on palate, this has finely expressed ripe, lush white peach, lime and nectarine-like fruit flavours alongside restrained spicy, toasty oak. The mouthfeel is refined and tightly textured with excellent acidity in support. This has excellent concentration and length, and is reminiscent of classy white Graves. Drink with seafood, poultry and herb marinated meat dishes over the next 3-5 years. 18.0+/20 Feb 2011 RRP $24.00
