Allegiance ‘The Foreman’ Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 11-Sep-2015
"Dedicated to the iron men who built timber ships.” Fruit from Coonawarra fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine oaked. Full, dark, deep ruby-red colour with black hues and some garnet on edge. The nose is tightly bound and elegantly expressed with soft aromas of blackcurrant fruit along with herbal, stalk and green capsicum notes. This has good intensity, the fruit showing cooler herbaceous elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a softly concentrated core of sweet and moderately juicy blackcurrant fruit, harmoniously melded with leaf, stalk and herbal layers. Oaking is subtle and the acidity is fresh and integral. Fine-grained, powdery tannins emerge to balance the fruit sweetness, and grow to carry the wine to a soft, dry finish of herbs and currants. This is a fine-textured, cooler spectrum Cabernet Sauvignon with a harmoniously melded palate. Serve with roast beef and lamb over the next 5-6 years. 16.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP AUS$25.00
