Allegiance ‘Carpe Vinum’ Riverina Shiraz 2014

Syrah from Australia - NSW
Review Date : 10-Jul-2015
Full, dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on edge. The nose is soft and even in expression with gently full aromas of ripe, dark-red and black berried fruits, along with subtle nutty and resinous oak-like hints, and a suggestion of eucalyptus, all harmoniously melded and integrated. Medium-full bodied, the fruit flavours are restrained, gently unfolding to form a good core of sweet and ripe black berried fruits, entwined with earth, spices and eucalypt. The fruit is supported by soft, supple tannin extract and balanced acidity. Some sweet nutty and resinous nuances emerge, and lead to a moderately long finish. This is a restrained, soft and harmonious Shiraz with gentle black fruit . Serve with barbecued red meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. Riverina Shiraz fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.5-/20 Jul 2015 RRP AU$20.00
