Alexia Fleeting Glimpse Pinot Noir 2021, Wairarapa

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Apr-2023
Bright, moderately light ruby-red, lighter on the rim. The nose is lifted and vibrant with cranberry, strawberry, cherry, floral perfume, and damp forest aromas. Medium-light bodied, aromas of cranberry and strawberry evolve to sweet cherry and plum, pretty floral entwined with herb, forest floor and delicate spice. The flavour persists, unfolding floral details and depth. There's a concentration and refinement of sweet fruit with integrated acidity, flowing with supple, silky tannins in harmony. This is a very pretty, refined Pinot Noir with lifted aromas, precision and a pure expression on an alluringly silky mouthfeel. Match with drunken chicken and braised pork over the next 5+ years. Handpicked, clones Abel(60%), 5(22%) and 667(18%), fermented with 33% whole bunches, aged 14 months, 24% new oak. 13.5% alc. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Apr 2023 RRP $35
