Alex Gambal Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 04-May-2014
Dark, deep ruby-red, youthful in appearance. The nose is fresh and brash with youthful red cherry and berry fruits intermixed with whole bunch savoury notes, stalks and dark herbs adding a rawness to the bouquet. Complexing barrel-ferment like aromas show, along with some earthy reduction. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses a tight core of sweet, dark red cherry fruit, the flavours vibrant and fresh, the vitality enhanced by elevated acidity. Some herbal and reductive elements are present. The wine follows a fine-grained tannin line with a crisp, firm flow, leading to a bright fruited, slender, lingering finish. This is a fresh, youthful Clos de Vougeot that needs some time to settle and throw off the reductive notes. 7-9+ years 18.0/20 Apr 2014 RRP $269.00
