Alex Gambal Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2006

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 04-May-2014
Full, dark ruby-red with garnet hues, showing some development. This has a full, deep and solid bouquet of red berry fruits with developed savoury dried herb and whole cluster aromatics. Red florals lift the fruitiness. Medium-bodied, this palate is well-proportioned, the savoury strawberry and red fruit flavours are up-front and just beginning to show signs of drying out. The palate features savoury herbs, mushrooms and game notes, quite integral and the mouthfeel has a dry, textured, solid core and line. The underlying tannins, though moderately extracted are becoming prominent. This is a solid, mature Clos de Vougeot with secondary development, becoming drier. Drink over the next 5+ years. 17.0/20 Apr 2014 RRP $285.00
