Alana Estate Martinborough Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 13-Mar-2011
The Riesling wines from Alana Estate have always been well-received, and their quality supports the belief that the variety is one that will be as successful as Pinot Noir in the region. Bright pale straw-yellow in colour, this has a soft, lively bouquet of florals and honey along with delicate lime-like aromas. The nose has good, direct intensity. Medium-dry to taste, this is an elegantly-styled wine with 11.5% alc., the fresh lime juice, floral and honey flavours framed within a very fine-textured palate with soft acidity. A trace of bitterness is matched by the sweetness on the finish. Drink this with lightly spiced Asian cuisine or as an aperitif over the next 4-5+ years. 17.5+/20 Mar 2011 RRP $35.00
