Alana Estate ‘’Estate’ Martinborough Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 03-Nov-2014
Fruit from the ‘Alana’ and ‘Jackson’s’ blocks, 90% given 6 hours skin contact and 10% fermented on skins to 10.5% alc. and 15 g/L RS. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with light green hues. The nose is fresh, bright and lively with aromas of lime and lemon zest and subtle exotic florals, along with mouthwatering mineral elements and youthful fermentation esters. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, delicate exotic floral fruit flavours and lifted esters combine with honied notes to provide a luscious and gently rich mouthfeel. The palate is harmonious and smooth-flowing, with soft acid liveliness and a fine-textured guiding line. Flavours of citrus fruits, exotic florals and honeysuckle are carried to an elegantly proportioned, long and sustained finish. This is an elegant and gently rich medium-dry Riesling with exotic floral and fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif, and with mildly spicy Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. 18.5/20 Nov 2014 RRP $28.00
