Alana Estate ‘Estate’ Martinborough Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 25-Dec-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour, light edged. The bouquet is full and deep with aromas of lime fruit entwined with exotic florals, sherbet and musk, opening out the reveal honeysuckle and herb elements. Medium-dry to taste, fresh and full flavours of exotic florals and musk feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is fulsome and soft with ripe acidity, and the flavours follow a fine, textural line. This has good drive, the fruit extract and phenolics building, leading to a dry, textured finish with good length. This is a full, softly textured Riesling with exotic muskiness. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 4-5+ years. Hand-picked fruit, 50% WBP and 50% given 6 hours skin contact, cool-fermented to 11.5% alc. and 12 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Dec 2013 RRP $35.00
