Akitu A2 Pinot Noir 2020, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 30-Jan-2023
Moderately deep crimson, even colour throughout. The nose is softly perfumed, with aromas of sour cherry and black raspberry intertwined with hibiscus and baking spices. Medium-bodied, aromas of sour cherry and black raspberry lifted by hibiscus flower, alongside cinnamon, nutmeg and dried citrus peel. Lacy acidity carries silky tannins and spice along a fine line of elegance and youthfulness. This appealing Pinot Noir is elegant with juicy fruit, lifted floral and a silky palate. Match with pork and roasted turkey over the next 5 years. Fruit from Mt Barker, Wanaka, fermented with 26% whole bunches, 13.5% alc, aged 9-10 months in barrels, 11% new French oak. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Jan 2023 RRP $45
