Akarua ‘Rua’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 09-Jun-2011
At 14.0% alc., this was aged 10 months in 15% new French oak barrels. Very dark, deep, purple-hued ruby red in colour, this has a dense, dark, ripe raspberry fruited nose with black cherries and violets showing. On palate this is soft, richly opulent with dark jam flavours and sweet black and red berry fruits, with a supple, lush and rounded mouthfeel. This is an up-front crowd pleaser that will drink well over the next 4-5 years.  Jun 2011
