Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 25-Sep-2024
Moderately deep crimson, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is bright and gently full, with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, thyme, earth and delicate spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of black cherry and blackberry are succulent and ripe, entwined with thyme, black pepper and earth. A silky yet firm tannin grip provides structure, along with lively acidity, supporting a lengthy, savoury finish. An appealing Pinot Noir reflects its origin, showcasing its silky fine structure and ripe black fruit core. Match with lamb and mushroom risotto over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from Bannockburn, fermented with 15% whole bunch, aged in French barrels for 10 months, 25% new oak. 13% alc. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Sep 2024 RRP $45
