Akarua Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 21-Jan-2015
Medium dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is elegant and penetrating with deep, bright and fragrant dark red cherry fruit aromas. Layers of herb interest and shiny oak unfold to reveal savoury stalk and dried herb interest, lifted by violetty floral elements. Medium-full bodied, intense and concentrated bright fruit flavours are expressed with sweetness and succulence. This is classical Central Otago black cherry character, and the flavours are tightly packed and underlined by very fine-grained tannins. This has a moutheel of finesse and class and the flavours of violets and cherries linger on a sustained finish. This will keep well for another 5-6 years. 19.0-/20 Dec 2013 RRP $N/A
