Akaroa Winery Organic Riesling 2018, Banks Peninsula, Canterbury

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 30-Jun-2022
Bight, even, pale yellow with depth and a green hue. This has a full, mealy bouquet, penetrating aromas of hazelnut, lanolin underlying citrus fruit and peels. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, citrus aromas of lemon intermix stonefruit and savoury development of lanolin and nut. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, flows with soft, zesty acidity to a moderately long finish. This is a developed Riesling with ripe fruit and a citrus core, showing nutty and savoury development on a creamy, waxy palate. Match with chicken and pork now. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless steel to 13.3% alc, <1 g/l RS, left on lees in tank for 6 months. 15.5/20 pts (78 pts) June 2022 RRP $30
