Akaroa Winery ‘Cuvee Blanc’ Canterbury 2011

Blended White from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 24-Aug-2012
Approx. equal proportions of Chardonnay and Riesling fermented to 14.12% alc. and 1.08 g/L rs, the wine aged in oak 8 months with MLF in barrel. Certified organic grapes. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, pale on edge. This has a tightly bound, fresh nose with steely floral aromatics and noticeable creamy-butter malolactic notes. Dry to taste, and medium-bodied, there are lush white stonefruit and buttery MLF flavours softly filling the palate. The acidity is brisk and refreshing and provides good balance, leading to an uncomplicated, long, soft and lacy finish with a touch of bitterness. This is a fresh dry white with a soft lusciousness and butterscotch flavours. Serve with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 2-3+ years. 15.5/20 RRP $30.00
