Akaroa Winery ‘Cuvee Blanc’ Canterbury 2009

Blended White from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 25-Mar-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with light lemon-green hues. This has a full nose of ripe, savoury yellow stonefruits lifted and freshened by floral elements. Dry to taste, attractive flavours of cooked stonefruits gently fill the palate with fresh floral notes adding interest and brightness. This is soft textured with good body, weight and a near unctuous mouthfeel. The acidity is low now, but the wine has a slipperiness and line leading to a moderately sustained finish. A blend of 60% Pinot Gris, 20% Chardonnay and 10% each of Gewurztraminer and Riesling, certified organic, hand-picked and WBP and fermented to 13.52% alc. and 0.61 g/L rs. Drinking well now, serve this soft, balanced white blend with antipasto and tapas over the next 2 years. 16.0-/20 Mar 2012 RRP $32.00
