Deep ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is rich, with aromas of tobacco leaf, blackcurrant, blueberry and spice. Full-bodied, aromas of blackcurrant and blueberry melded with tobacco leaf, vanilla and clove. A rich tannin grip emphasises the black fruit and spice; balanced acidity carries tobacco leaf notes to a bold closing. Match with skirt steak and ragu over the next 3 years. The fruit was destemmed, long maceration with regular pump-over, fermented to 13.5% alc, underwent MLF, 10% was aged in oak barrels and the remaining in stainless steel. 17.5/20 pts (88 pts) Feb 2025 RRP $22
