Abbey Estate ‘Passion’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2017

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 12-Jul-2017
Bright pale pink colour with slight peach hues, lighter on the rim. This has a very fresh and elegantly presented nose with delightfully delicate, fragrant aromas of strawberries and red florals, along with some confectionary notes and lifted fresh fermentation esters. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is fresh and youthful with bright, mouthwatering acidity and delicate aromatic flavours of strawberries, red florals and confectionary, along with fresh fermentation esters. The palate is crisp with zesty acidity and the wine flows along a very fine, thirst-quenching, subtly textured line, leading to a light, fragrant finish. This is a delightfully fresh and delicate dry rosé with fragrant strawberry, floral and lifted confectionary and fermentation notes on a mouthwatering palate. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 2 years. A blend of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Malbec, picked for the rosé style, the fruit spending one day on skins and tank-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Jul 2017 RRP $20.00
