Abbey Cellars ‘Passion’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 02-Dec-2013
Full, moderately deep, near-lurid, purple-hued red-pink colour. The nose is full and intense with well-concentrated aromas of bright raspberry and cream fruit aromas along with attractive fruit bon-bon confectionary notes. Medium-dry to taste, bright, bold, lusciously full flavours of raspberry fruit and confectionary are the feature on the palate. The fruit sweetness and residual sugar coat the mouth, but are cut by balancing acidity. This is softly textured and shows plenty of weight and presence, the flavours of raspberries and spices leading to a sustained finish. This is a full, rich Malbec and Merlot-based rosé with luscious raspberry fruit and lollyish notes. Serve with charcuteries or with fresh summer fruits over the next 2+ years. 55% Malbec and 45% Merlot, hand-picked and soaked overnight and fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 12 g/L RS. 220 cases made. 17.5-/20 Dec 2013 RRP $20.00
