36 Bottles Central Otago Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 02-Sep-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is very tightly bound and elegantly presented with delicate and pure aromas of white florals, white stonefruits and limes, revealing subtle, mouthwatering saline and flinty, mineral nuances. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, softly concentrated and gently luscious flavours of white stonefruits, apples and lime are lifted by white floral elements, and form a precise core with drive and energy. The fruit and sweetness are beautifully balanced by lacy acidity lending a refined, dry texture and minerally line. The wine leads to a subtly nuanced, long lingering, mouthwatering finish. This is an elegant, off-dry Riesling of precision and purity with subtle lusciousness and minerality. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Bald Hills’ Bannockburn vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 11.4% alc. and 12 g/L RS, TA 8.3 g/L and pH 2.81. 18.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $25.70 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
