36 Bottles Central Otago Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 26-Jun-2014
Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, very pale on rim. The nose is very elegant and finely presented with aromas of exotic florals, lime fruit and honeysuckle entwined with talc and minerals lifted by fermentation esters. Dry to taste, a smooth, soft-textured, concentrated line of aromatic florals, limes and sherbetty-talc flavours flows on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft-textured with ripe acidity providing subtle tension and energy. Esters and honey elements add detail and interest to the flavours, which are carried to a very long, lingering, crisp and dry finish. This is a very elegant and detailed dry Riesling with lifted floral, honeysuckle and exotic talc flavours. Serve as an aperitif, or with Asian fare over the next 4-6 years, but this could age longer. Riesling fruit from Bannockburn cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 6.1 g/L RS with 8.3 g/L TA and pH 2.81. Winemaker: P.J. Charteris. 168 dozen made. 18.0/20 Aug 2013 RRP $2.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
