3 Stones Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Feb-2013
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. This has a soft and subtle nose of fresh gooseberry fruit, white florals, nettles and minerals, very expressive of the Awatere. Dry and light-bodied, gently sweet and succulent flavours of gooseberries, florals and minerals are up-front and harmoniously balanced with fresh acidity, forming a fine-textured, light and lacy palate line. The flavours are carried by the acidity to a light, dry, faintly phenolic and grainy finish. This is a light and gently lush Sauvignon Blanc that has some linearity. Serve with seafood over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau valleys cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs 15.5-/20 Feb 2013 RRP $19.95
