3 Rings Barossa Valley Shiraz 2013

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 20-Sep-2016
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with light garnet on the edge. This has a softly concentrated nose with a deep and firm core of ripe blackberry fruit entwined with liquorice, iron-earth minerals and savoury black pepper notes, unfolding a little game and cedar. The aromatics are well-integrated and harmoniously presented. Full-bodied, this is solid, deep and sweetly rich on palate with flavours of blackberries and boysenberries, melded with liquorice, savoury black pepper and cedar elements. The mouthfeel is fulsome and rounded with fine-grained, supple tannin extraction in support, the acidity ripe and soft. There is considerable power, with alcohol drive, and the palate carries to a full, broad, lingering finish of black fruits, pepper, liquorice and cedar. This is a full-bodied, ripe Shiraz with black fruits, pepper and cedar, a rounded mouthfeel and plenty of supple tannins with alcohol power. Match with roasted game meat over the next 5-7 years. Barossa Valley fruit fermented to 15.5% alc. 1,800 cases made. 18.0-/20 Sep 2016 RRP AU$16.00
