12,000 Miles Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 13-May-2018
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is elegantly proportioned with up-front and accessible aromas of gooseberries along with a subtle layer of fresh herbs, hints of nettles and cut grass, snow peas, unveiling a little passionfruit. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has lively and sweet fruit flavours of gooseberries along with fresh herbs and subtle notes of cut grass, peas and passionfruit. The fruit forms a soft-textured, but rounded core with plenty of presence and balanced, refreshing acidity. The flavours carry with good energy to a lingering finish. This is an accessible, bright and lively Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, cut grass, herb and passionfruit flavours on a palate with good presence. Fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘Dakins Road’, ‘Carters’ and ‘Cliff’ blocks, cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 1.9 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.0/20 May 2018 RRP $21.00
