12,000 Miles Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Nov-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly voluminous with moderately deep, harmoniously entwined aromas of passionfruit and ripe tropical fruits, along with fresh herb and green capsicum notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tight and taut with a firmly concentrated line of passionfruit and tropical fruits intermingling with sweet herbs. The palate possesses dry, phenolic textures with add to the firmness, and the fruit is underlined by lacy, thirst-quenching acidity. The textures carry the wine to a dry, light-flavoured finish. This is a taut and tightly held, dry-textured Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, tropical fruit and fresh herb flavours with thirst-quenching acidity. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘Dakins Road’, ‘Carters’ and ‘Cliff’ blocks, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and <1.0 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.5-/20 Nov 2016 RRP $21.00
