12,000 Miles Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 11-Apr-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft with light and gently mouthfilling flavours of gooseberry fruit along with chalky minerals, fresh herbs and green capsicums. This is clean and fresh in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses light gooseberry fruit with chalky minerals, herbs and capsicums. The mouthfeel features mouthwatering acidity and a light, dry phenolic-textured line which underlines the fruit. The wine carries to a textural and dry finish with gooseberry and herb flavours that lead to a light grassy finish. This is a crisp, tight, light, gooseberry and minerally Sauvignon Blanc with mouthwatering dry textures. Serve as an aperitif and with salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Dakins Road’, ‘Home’, ‘Carters’ and ‘Cliff’ blocks, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and <1 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.0/20 Apr 2016 RRP $20.00
