12,000 Miles Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Jan-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, lighter on rim. The nose is softly aromatic and lifted with ripe gooseberry and tropical fruits at the core, unveiling subtle passionfruit notes with aeration. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is slender in proportion with soft gooseberry fruit flavours. Delicate nuances of fresh herbs lift the fruitiness. The mouthfeel is smooth and slippery flowing with fresh, lacy acidity and fine textures that lead to a dry, mouthwatering finish. This is a soft, fresh Sauvignon Blanc with slippery gooseberry fruit flavours and a dry finish. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Dakin’s Road’, ‘Home’, ‘Boyd’, ‘Carters’ and ‘Cliffs’ blocks, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.84% alc. and 0.87 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.5/20 Jan 2015 RRP $21.00
