12,000 Miles Gladstone Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 31-Oct-2017
Dark ruby-red colour with some depth and purple tints, lighter on the edge with garnet hues. The nose is gently full and moderately deep with aromas of dark-red berry fruits and plum elements, and a layer of spicy oak entwined with subtle dried herb and floral suggestions. Medium-bodied, the palate has a firmly packed heart with lively and sweetly rich fruit flavours of dark-red berryfruit melded with plum, spicy oak, herbs and florals. The mouthfeel is vigorous showing good energy, with fine grainy tannins and lacy acidity in support. The wine carries to a lingering finish rich fruit and oak notes. This is a rich and lively, sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with red berryfruit, plum and spicy oak flavours on a vigorous palate with fine, grainy tannins. Serve with Middle Eastern fare over the next 4-5 years. Dijon clones with 10/5 and Abel, from blocks in Dakins Road and ‘Carter’, hand-picked and fermented with 5% whole bunches to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in barrel. 17.0-/20 Nov 2017 RRP $27.00
