12,000 Miles Gladstone Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 13-May-2018
Full straw-yellow colour with light green-golden hues, a little paler edged. The nose is gently full and up-front with aromas of yellow stonefruits along with notes of pears and savoury yellow florals, unfolding subtle nutty nuances. This has a soft heart with good depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a soft core of white and yellow stonefruits along with pears and hints of exotic florals. The fruit is up-front and the mouthfeel is rounded with soft acidity. The palate is fresh and lively and carries to a light finish, the flavours receding a little. This is an up-front dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit pear and floral flavours, and a rounded mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto or dim sum over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Manuka Flats’, ‘Home’ and ‘Blairpatrick’ blocks, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 16.5+/20 May 2018 RRP $21.00
