12,000 Miles Gladstone Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 11-Apr-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, paler on edge. This has a fresh, pure and finely proportioned nose with light aromas of white stonefruits and pears, with aromatic floral lift, and nuances of fermentation esters and minerals. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, delicately sweet fruit flavours of stonefruits, white florals, pears and honeysuckle emerge from a fine core. The palate is soft-textured with light acidity and a delicate phenolic grip underlying the fruit. The flavours flow smoothly with good energy to a long finish with crisp acidity and fine-textures. This is a dryish, delicately sweet Pinot Gris with a soft and harmonious, flowing palate. Match with seafood, poultry and Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Home’, ‘Dakins Road’, ‘Blairpatrick’ and ‘Boyd’ blocks, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4.71 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 16.0+/20 Apr 2016 RRP $20.00
