Yealands 2016 ‘Land Made’ and ‘Single Vineyard’ Pinot Gris

27-Sep-2016
The 2016 growing season in Marlborough had its challenges for Sauvignon Blanc, the warm and drier weather resulting in ripe, but softer wines. However other varieties flourished and I believe Pinot Gris is one of them. The growing season has provided richness and concentration, as well as bolder and more exotic flavours to a variety that can be on the bland side of expression. Here, I review two 2016 Yealands Pinot Gris wines, one under the ‘Land Made’ range, and the other a ‘Single Vineyard’ bottling. www.yealands.co.nz
