Wingspan Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2014
New Zealand wine industry veteran Paul Wai Poi has an enviable number of contacts to enable the sourcing of very good quality and value wines from New Zealand and overseas for his CPP Wines distribution business. Here, I review the Wingspan Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2014 which is under consideration for a volume purchase from a confidential producer. The wine is more than the up-front fruity style, and has complexing inputs and textures that will make it more suited to food. To contact Paul Wai Poi. Tel: 09 360-2854.

Wingspan Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2014Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - NelsonReview Date : 19-Jul-2016Bright straw-yellow with pale golden hues, lighter on the rim. The bouquet is moderately firm with aromas of green stonefruits entwined with subtle notes of gooseberries, cut grass and complexing mineral and flinty elements. This has depth and an elegant intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a complex amalgam of green stonefruits melded with subtle notes of flint, minerals and smoke, along with cut grass and a suggestion of secondary bean-like development. The mouthfeel has fine, grainy phenolic textures and mouthwatering lacy acidity which carries the wine to a softly concentrated, grainy finish with stonefruit and flinty elements. This is a complex Sauvignon Blanc with green stonefruit, cur grass and minerally flavours and a textured mouthfeel. Serve with salads and vegetables, and herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 3 years. 16.5+/20 Jul 2016 RRP $10.95
