Wild Grace 2016 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir Rosé, and 2015 Pinot Noir

13-Sep-2016
The global Constellation Brands company has launched the new ‘Wild Grace’ label which aims to capture the unique nature and "wild grace” of New Zealand with quality wines. Head winemaker Wendy Stuckey says the ‘Wild Grace’ brand gave the company the opportunity of showcasing the "best growing regions where weather patterns and terroir influence the flavour of the grape”. The initial releases are a 2016 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, a 2016 Central Otago Pinot Rosé and a 2015 Central Otago Pinot Noir. Other wines could be added to the range in the near future. Here, I review the inaugural releases. The commonality of the wines from my tastings is their softness, gentle richness and accessibility, quite possibly a winemaking house style. www.constellationnz.com
