The Central Otago Mount Edward winery and its proprietor Duncan Forsyth have been in the spotlight of late. Duncan was one of the board members of Pinot Noir 2013, and as such was integral with the planning and delivery of this high profile New Zealand wine event. And concurrently the Summer of Riesling movement was running and continues until the end of February. Duncan too, has been at the heart of getting this Riesling focus up and running in New Zealand. It is appropriate that I review two of his new release wines, a 2012 Riesling under the very successful secondary ‘Wanaka Road’ label, and his 2011 Mount Edward Pinot Noir, arguably his most important and signature wine. www.mountedward.co.nz
