Volcanic Hills 2012 White and 2011 Red Releases

28-Mar-2013

The model of a ‘virtual winery’ is most efficient and economical one that allows greater resource and effort into the marketing and selling of wines produced, which is one of the most underestimated of the essential activities for any wine producer. Volcanic Hills is the ‘virtual winery’ of Brent Park and Sean Beer, winemakers who met at Delegats, who do not own vineyards or a winery, but purchase lots of fruit from different regions and renting winery space to craft the wines. They’ve had critical success for their wines, which include Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay and Central Otago Pinot Noir. I review the latest releases, whites from the 2012 vintage and a red from 2011. www.volcanichills.co.nz
