Two Rivers ‘Convergence’ Sauvignon Blanc 2013 – A Re-Look

12-Nov-2013
There is considerable market pressure for wine producers to release their wines at an early stage, to maintain a presence on shelves and wine lists, when the current vintage runs out. The wines can be tasted and seen by consumers when they may not have developed or settled to show their best. This applies to supposedly ‘early-drinking’ varieties and styles, including Sauvignon Blanc. Recently I reviewed the Two Rivers ‘Convergence’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013. I found the harmony and refinement very attractive then. Winemaker Dave Clouston thought I should take another look at the wine with two months more time in bottle. I am surprised by how much more concentrated the wine seems now, and it appears to show the potential to develop further. Here is my review of the wine. www.tworivers.co.nz
