Trinity Hill

20-Jul-2020

An iconic NZ winery in Hawke's Bay. In the late 1980’s Winemaker John Hancock met with Bleeding Heart restaurant owners Robyn and Robert Wilson at their restaurant in London and a seed was planted. In 1993 that seed became Trinity Hill on a stony site in Hawkes Bay which they knew would have the ability to produce outstanding wine for some of the great restaurants and wine stores of the world. American company “Terroir” completed the trinity in 2014.

Chief winemaker Warren Gibson joined since 1997, worked alongside John Hancock. The super-premium wine Homage Syrah was first created in 2002.

The ‘White Label’ wines cover a broad range of varieties and are made from fruit from vineyards around the wider Hawke’s Bay, Being a Gimblett Gravels-based winery, its premium ‘Black Label’ wines are, of course, made from fruit from estate vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels. The flagship wine, the ‘Homage’ Syrah is a forward-thinking and beautiful interpretation of the Syrah grape, which many considered the rising star of Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand.
