Trinity Hill 2016 Rosé, and 2015 Chardonnay and Syrah

Although Trinity Hill’s claim to fame are the outstanding Gimblett Gravels wines, the Trinity Hills ‘white label’ range shows the company to be the consummate Hawke’s Bay producer employing fruit from diverse vineyard sources throughout the Bay. By doing so, they obtain fruit that is more suited to the specific styles they are making, as the Gimblett Gravels is not necessarily ideal for all varieties. The result is a range of thoroughly contemporary wines that exude Hawke’s Bay character and which are more accessible in style and price. Here, I review the 2016 Rosé, and 2015 Chardonnay and Syrah.
