Tinpot Hut 2012 White & 2011 Pinot Noir Releases

05-Oct-2012
You can expect to now see flashes of brilliance in the sole venture Tinpot Hut wines made by Fiona Turner, one of Marlborough's very highly respected winemakers. Fiona is part of the Kiwi-Oeno consultancy firm with Matt Thomson, Glenn Thomas and Alana McGettigan, which has enjoyed great success with the wines that they have been involved in. Her experience in making top Marlborough wines in enviable. The other factor is the increasing maturity of the vines in Fiona and her husband Hamish's 20 ha vineyard in the Blind River district of the Awatere Valley, where the majority of the fruit for the Tinpot Hut Marlborough wines is sourced. With each vintage, the wines increase in interest and substance. Here, I review a selection of the new release 2012 whites and the 2011 Pinot Noir. www.tinpothut.co.nz
