Thomas’s Bach 2015 Riesling and Rosé, and 2013 Sparkling Rosé

The Batch Winery in Waiheke Island has launched a new range of wines under the ‘Thomas’s Bach’ label. The wines are designed to complement the theme of the Batch Winery’s vineyard restaurant and cellar door which is based on the Kiwi bach. Clearly the new brand has different levels and connections, including being a homophone of batch and that the Batch Winery is owned by the Thomas family. The wines will source fruit from around New Zealand and made by Daniel Struckman at Waiheke Island. Here, I review the 2015 Riesling and Rosé from Martinborough fruit, and the 2013 Sparkling Rosé from Waiheke Island fruit.
