Theory & Practice Gisborne Chardonnay and Craft Farm ‘Lyons’ Syrah 2014

09-Dec-2015
Ant Mackenzie’s three personal labels ‘Tono’, ‘Theory & Practice’ and ‘Craft Farm; give him the latitude to explore different avenues of style and winemaking. The ‘Tono’ wines have a Spanish theme, whereas the ‘Theory & Practice’ bottlings allow him the ability to trial different techniques. The ‘Craft Farm’ wines are varietal, site and regionally specific, and arguably his most special, as the ‘Craft Farm’ site is his home vineyard, though the wines can come from other vineyards. I’ve already reviewed the inaugural releases of these brands, and now I review the new ‘Theory & Practice’ Gisborne Chardonnay made with his brother Bryce, and the first red under the ‘Craft Farm’ label, a Syrah from the ‘Lyons’ vineyard. www.antswines.co.nz
