Winemaker & viticulturist Alejandra Ruiz Lagos produced 70 dozens of Teitei Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020 for a good cause.
"Connecting vines to wine" is the motto of Alejandra's company, The Wild Yeasts, a company that offers winemaking services. Alejandro's respectful winemaking style aims to showcase varietal characteristics. These Marlborough Pinot Noir grapes were handpicked, destemmed, wild fermentation, light tannin extraction, unfined and unfiltered to capture a pure form of Marlborough Pinot Noir, showing elegance and enticing aromatics.
The reason behind the initiative involved Alejandra's best friend losing her life in October 2021 in the Arthur Pass National Park. Every bottle sold, $10 will be donated to Oxford LandSAR and Christchurch Alpine Cliff Rescue (ACR) to help those who get into trouble in the mountains and need to be rescued.
