te Pa Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

19-Aug-2015
One of the significant new Marlborough labels is that of te Pa of the MacDonald family who have farmed the land in the Wairau Bar, next to the coast, for generations. The family own over 150 ha of vines, first planting in 2003, initially supplying contract fruit, but introducing their own label from the 2011 vintage. Liam McElhinney and Sam Bennett are the winemakers, and they are improving the wines by careful yield management and building in more weight and texture to provide more serious wines. The 2015 vintage, deemed a high quality one, could mark the changes in approaching quality. Here, I review the 2015 Sauvignon Blanc. www.tepawines.com
