Te Mania and Richmond Plains – Further 2013 and 2012 Releases

04-Jun-2014
There’s the perception that organically and sustainably grown produce is more expensive. The market is becoming accustomed to the premium status of consumables that take care for the environment and health of the purchasers into consideration. However, the higher costs can deter many buyers from committing to the path with their wallets, though the mind accepts and believes in the ethics. The reality is that prices for organic and sustainable produce is now more accessible than ever as more primary producers are involved. This can be seen in the very affordable Te Mania and Richmond Plains wines of the Harrey and Jensen families respectively, in Nelson, who are carrying the flag for organics and biodynamics for the everyday person. Here I review a selection of new releases from the 2013 and 2012 vintages, made by Steve Gill. They complement the earlier reviews I made in January this year of the fresh, aromatic styles (click here to see). www.temaniawines.co.nzwww.richmondplains.co.nz
