You’d think that summer drinking with rosé and Sauvignon Blanc was all about light, mouthwatering and refreshing, and most examples of these styles are made this way. But of course, there’s a range of character within each of these categories. Rod McDonald has released a Te Awanga Estate Rosé 2015, different to what has been made previously, looking for an even lighter style. And the Quarter Acre Sauvignon Blanc 2015, made with considerable and sophisticated inputs. Both wines are from Hawke’s Bay, of course! I review them here. www.rmwines.co.nz
