Soderberg ‘Rouge Fete’ Marlborough Methode Traditionelle 2015

04-Nov-2016
Soderberg Wines is the boutique Marlborough Pinot Noir venture of Carney Soderberg and Robyn Vidak who own a 1.1 ha BioGro organic certified vineyard at the foot of the Wither Hills. The vines are clones 667 and 777 and from them they produce no more than 300 cases of quality Pinot Noir annually. In 2015, the vineyard was frosted, but they salvaged the best fruit to make a methode traditionelle Pinot Noir with winemakers Hugh Girling of Sugar Loaf winery and Lee Dobson of No. 1 Family Estate. I review the wine here, and see it as a refreshing, dry rosé style. The wine is yet to be commercialised. www.soderbergwines.co.nz
