Sileni Estates 2015 ‘Cape’ Sauvignon, ‘Hedonist’ Viognier and 2014 ‘Cut Cane’ Merlot

Graeme Avery established Sileni Estates in the mid-1990s in a period of modern growth in Hawke’s Bay that also saw the likes of Trinity Hill and Craggy Range become significant players in the district and for New Zealand. Each of these companies has taken their individual paths, with Sileni Estates growing its export focus to such an extent that Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is now its main wine produced. However the heart and soul of Sileni Estates is in Hawke’s Bay, and Graeme Avery’s team of chief winemaker Grant Edmonds, red winemaker Cain Coghill and white winemaker Nigel Davies take the greatest care and are extremely proud of their Hawke’s Bay bottlings. The ‘Reserve’ styled wines are in the ‘Estate Selection’ tier, and are particularly fine bottlings.
