Saint Clair ‘Omaka Reserve’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

26-Dec-2014

The Ibbotson family make their best Saint Clair wines in a bold and accessible style that reflects their enthusiastic and uninhibited nature. Drinkers are met with flavours that fill the palate and a palate richness that delivers great satisfaction. In many ways, they are quintessential expressions of the Marlborough region and Kiwi persona, and the wines have been recognised and well-awarded for it. The ‘Omaka Reserve’ wines are the Saint Clair flagships, and the Chardonnay is a statement, aged, unusually, exclusively in American oak barrels, which adds to the powerful style. Here, I review the 2013 ‘Omaka Reserve’ Chardonnay. www.saintclair.co.nz
