Sacred Hill ‘Orange’, Gunn Estate ‘Reserve’, Ti Point and Wild South 2016 and 2015 Releases

The diversity of brands managed by Sacred Hill gives the company a distinct advantage when it comes to market reach and penetration. Each brand has its own story and history, as well as stylistic differences in the wines. Separate winemaking teams are responsible for the wines, but all come under the watchful eye of Sacred Hill’s chief winemaker Tony Bish. Sacred Hill’s best recognised wines are the ‘Orange Label’ wines, seen everywhere www.sacredhill.comGunn Estate was an early Hawke’s Bay venture by the Gunn family who eventually sold to Sacred Hill. The Gunn family retain personal ties to the people at Sacred Hill and the ’Reserve’ wines are strong  Ti Point is the Matakana venture of the Haslam family, and it has become integrated with the Sacred Hill winemaking and marketing with Tracy Haslam married to Sacred Hill’s founder David Mason. And Wild South is the former Cairnbrae label, purchased by Sacred Hill as they expanded into Marlborough. Here, I review a number of new releases under each brand from the 2016 and 2015 vintages.
