Ruru Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

27-Oct-2015
2014 marked the first vintage of Lucienne and Roland van der Wal’s own label from their ‘Immigrants Vineyard’ in Alexandra which they purchased in 2012. Pinot Noir is the core variety counting for 14 ha of the 20 ha planted. In 2014, the van der Wals contracted Dave Grant of Shaky Bridge to make limited quantities of wine, including a Pinot Noir as part of the production. The wine has now been bottled, and will be released under the ‘Ruru’ brand, joining a rosé and Gewurztraminer which I recently reviewed (click here to see). Here is my review of the Pinot Noir. www.immigrantsvineyard.co.nz
